Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old African American boy was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. In February of 2012, Martin was returning home from the store that evening with only some skittles and an Arizona in hand. But because he looked “suspicious” George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch member who was instructed by authorities to not approach the young boy disobeyed authorities and took matters into his own hands. Trayvon Martin died that night, February 26, 2012 at the age of 17. Today he would have been 25 years old. But we remember that Trayvon Martin Lived and his story will forever be remembered.
