The @skategalclub is changing the narrative in Accra, Ghana. Co-founded by Sandy Alibo and Kuukua Eshun, they created Ghana’s first-ever women skate crew. Breaking down the stigma of women in sports. What started in 2019 has become a central hub for women and girls to learn board skills and invoke confidence. They have taught more than 200 women how to ride, but for them, it’s not only about learning how to skate. Through their community events, they’ve created an open environment for women to discuss sex, work, and being an African Woman in a rapidly developing country like Ghana.
